FREEZE WARNING MAY 2-MAY 3

Last Updated 5/2/2026

Freeze Warning for Lee County tonight, May 2nd! Bring in your annuals, hanging baskets, houseplants, unpotted veggies before sunset! If you've already planted tomato or cucumber plants in the ground, cover them with a thick frost blanket or greenhouse plastic. If you are in a bind and do not have a frost blanket, a tarp or even a cheap sheet from the dollar store will do in a pinch. If you don't have hoops over your rows, place dowels, skewers or sticks to hold up the covering a bit so they don't crush the tops of your plants (and don't forget to weigh down the corners so it doesn't blow away). I think after this one we will finally be in the clear for true spring!
